San José lies at the heart of a vast fertile valley, the Meseta Central (Central Valley). Founded in the 18th century, it bears little resemblance to the colonial era. Day 2

San Jose, Sarapiqui

Day 3

Sarpiqui, Arenal

Breakfast. Suggested discovery: The Arenal volcano, with its almost perfect conical stratovolcano silhouette, overlooks the entire region. A small town lies at a respectful distance from the enormous Arenal volcano.
It's an important stopover for the traveler, an active tourist resort with stores, banks, restaurants... Numerous hotels and lodges are located around the volcano, between 5 and 10 km from the village of La Fortuna, a very pleasant stopover. Lunch and dinner on your own. Night in hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day at Arenal. Suggested activities: Admire the forest-covered part of the volcano and Cerro Chato, set against the Tilarán mountain range, enjoy all the outdoor activities the country has to offer: tree-top tours, rafting, horseback riding, relax in the hot springs, stroll through the village to meet the Costa Ricans. Lunch and dinner on your own. Night at hotel.

Day 5

Arenal, Monteverde

We have breakfast. Departure for Monteverde. To better understand this magical place and discover its flora and fauna, it's possible to explore in different ways, by day or night: on foot along the trails of this high-altitude rainforest, using footbridges suspended from the treetops, or in the canopy, moving from platform to platform clinging to a cable above the carpet of ferns and moss.
The Monteverde, Santa Elena and Curi Cancha reserves or the Children's Eternal Forest are just some of the options for discovering the cloud forest in the footsteps of the Quetzal. The village of Monteverde, which was founded by Quakers, also offers a glimpse of rural Costa Rican life. You can visit a butterfly farm, a serpentarium and woodworking shops. Lunch and dinner on your own. Night at the hotel.
We have breakfast. A change of scenery for the last stage of your discovery. You'll discover the Guanacaste region, its beaches, culture and climate. Lunch and dinner on your own. Night in hotel.

Monteverde, Guanacaste Coast

Day 7
