From Memphis to New Orleans, this tour delves into the heart of American musical roots. A journey steeped in rhythm, history and emotion, in the heart of the warm, deep South.

Days 1 - 2

France / Nashville

Flight to Nashville, nicknamed «Music City USA». Arrival and welcome by your English-speaking guide. Transfer to hotel for two nights. Dinner on your own.
We have breakfast. Visit to the Country Music Hall Of Fame & Museum, retracing the history of country music. Discover costumes, instruments, sheet music, vintage film clips... Lunch. Orientation tour of Nashville. Stroll along Music Row with a stop at a bar (drinks not included), a mecca for the country music industry, and along Broadway, renowned for its Honky Tonk and live music. Country-style dinner.

We have breakfast. Drive to Memphis, the birthplace of the blues, on the banks of the Mississippi River. BBQ lunch. Visit to the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968, and which today houses the National Civil Rights Museum (replaced by the Rock n Soul Museum on Tuesdays).
Visit Sun Studios, home to some of the biggest musical stars of the 50s. Then a short orientation tour, including Beale Street and its many blues clubs. Evening and dinner at leisure. Night in hotel.

Day 3

Nashville, Memphis

Day 4

Memphis, Graceland, Jackson

We have breakfast. Visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley and a place of pilgrimage for fans from all over the world. Elvis' grave is at the back of the house. Lunchtime.
Visit the BB King Museum in Indianola. Here you'll learn about Riley B King's life and rise in the blues world. Drive to Jackson.
Fried food dinner at one of the local music hotspots. Overnight stay.
We have breakfast. Departure for Vicksburg. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, Vicksburg lives on in its Southern past. You'll discover the main battlefield of the American Civil War. Lunch.
Drive to Natchez, one of the best-preserved antebellum towns in the South. Visit of the town and historic Stanton Hall. Continuation to Baton Rouge, capital of Louisiana. Check-in at your hotel for two nights. Dinner and overnight stay. Night at hotel.

Day 5

Jackson, Natchez, Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge

We have breakfast. Drive along the «River Road», still dotted with old plantations. Visit Oak Alley, the most famous plantation in the Old South. Lunch on the plantation. Continuation to Laura Plantation. This plantation was the last to belong to the French. Return to Baton Rouge. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
We have breakfast. Visit to the Capitol. An art-deco building, it is the tallest capitol in the United States. Visit to the Rural Life Museum, a reconstruction of an early 19th-century village. Lunch at the Museum.
Road to Lafayette. On the way we cross the country's largest bayou, the Atchafalaya Basin. Orientation tour and visit to Vermilionville, a reconstruction of a 19th-century Acadian village. Actors in period costume bring traditional trades to life. Dinner with live local music. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 7

Baton Rouge, Lafayette

Lafayette, Saint-Martinville, Houma

We have breakfast. Departure for Saint-Martinville, visit of the town considered the true capital of Cajun country. Discover the Catholic Church of Saint Martin de Tours. Continue on to Avery Island, where you'll discover the factory that makes the famous Tabasco hot sauce.
Lunch at the Tabasco Factory. Stop in Morgan City, the shrimp capital of the world, and arrival in Houma. Crawfish dinner. Overnight in hotel.
We have breakfast. Departure for the Thibodaux region. Hovercraft ride through the bayous, past cypress and oak trees, where alligators mingle with snakes, herons and ibis. Lunch on board.
Continuation to New Orleans. Orientation tour of its neighborhoods and the Garden District. Check-in at a downtown hotel for two nights. Dinner on your own. Night at hotel.

Day 9

New Orleans

We have breakfast. Guided tour of New Orleans in French, including a walking tour of the Vieux Carré, the French Quarter. You'll discover St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the U.S., Jackson Square, the center of the Vieux Carré, Bourbon Street and its jazz clubs, the Cabildo, a remarkable 18th-century Spanish building, and the French Market, followed by a beignet tasting.
Lunch cruise aboard a paddle-steamer on the Mississippi River. Afternoon and evening free to explore the city at your leisure. Dinner on your own. Night at your hotel.
Then breakfast. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport. Lunch at leisure. Flight to France. Dinner and overnight on board.
